Bowman Draft Baseball Cards: What Every Year Sells For

Hub Baseball Prospects Updated

Quick Answer Bowman Draft is Topps' late-season prospect set built around each year's MLB Draft class. The 2025 edition reached stores January 14, 2026, at a $529.99 list price for a three-autograph hobby box. Plain Chrome prospect autographs sit at a median of $5 to $15 from 2020 on, and a few top picks, like Paul Skenes near $700, carry the value.

Before you send a Bowman Draft autograph off to be slabbed, our walkthrough on whether a card is worth grading runs the fee against the raw price, and on a ten-dollar prospect it's usually a no. If you're paying a monthly subscription just to look up comps like these, the CardLadder alternatives breakdown lays out who charges what.

Bowman Draft baseball is the product people rip hoping to land the kid who goes first overall in July. Sometimes it works. Paul Skenes did. Most of the time you end up with three autographs of guys who'll be in Double-A for a while, and the market prices them that way. We priced the Chrome autographs in every year the catalog carries with real depth, 2016 through 2025, plus the refractor ladder, sealed boxes, and one pattern I didn't expect to be this clean: a player's first Bowman Draft card sells for several times his second.

What is Bowman Draft, and how is it different from Bowman Chrome?

It's the third Bowman release of the baseball year and the one tied to the MLB Draft. Bowman flagship comes in the spring, Bowman Chrome in late summer, and Bowman Draft closes things out with the players who were just picked. Our baseball prospect cards hub walks through that calendar, and the Bowman Chrome explainer covers the chrome stock and the refractor finishes that carry over into Draft. The spring flagship, priced a year after it came out, is on our 2025 Bowman baseball page, where the 1st Bowman tag turned out to be worth about three times inside a single product.

For the 2025 set, Checklist Insider's product page (read ) lists a 200-card base set, 102 Chrome Prospect Autographs, hobby boxes of 12 packs with three autographs at $529.99, and Jumbo boxes of five packs with five autographs at $739.99. It also lists a Breaker's Delight box with one pack and three autographs. The base set runs on both paper and Chrome, so most players have two base cards in the same year, which matters later on this page.

When is each Bowman Draft set released?

Late, and it's drifting later. Baseball America's preorder story (published , updated December 10) put the 2024 release on December 4, 2024 and said the 2025 set would land in mid-January, roughly seven weeks later. Checklist Insider gives the 2025 release as January 14, 2026. Two sources, same window, so I'm comfortable with that one.

The 2026 edition hasn't been dated yet. As of we couldn't find a street date from Topps or from two independent sources, and one retailer listing we saw only had a preorder page up. So we're not printing a date for it. When one firms up on two domains, it goes here. In the meantime the 2025 set on its own, with the whole first round priced pick by pick nine months after release, is on our 2025 Bowman Draft page.

How much are Bowman Draft Chrome autographs worth by year?

Less than people hope, more than most prospect products. We took the plain Chrome prospect autograph in each year (no colored refractor), kept the cheapest priced copy of each card number so nothing counts twice, and read the median, the average and the 90th percentile.

2025102$14.98$25.13$49.6835%Seth Hernandez, $235.68 (684)

Read the top four rows carefully. For 2016 to 2019 our catalog only prices 17 to 31 autographs a year, which is a slice of each checklist, not the whole thing, and the priced slice leans toward names people actually trade. So those medians run high. From 2020 on we have close to the full checklist, and the picture is steady: a median between about $5 and $9, then 2025 sitting near $15.

I'd guess the 2025 number drifts down. It's the newest set, the players are months removed from the draft, and every recent year looks like it started higher and settled. That's a hunch, though, not a measurement. The average runs three to six times the median in most years, which tells you the whole product is a handful of big names on top of a floor of cheap signatures. The 2021 set's actual priciest row, a Maddux Bruns autograph near $260, rests on one sale, so the table names Henry Davis instead.

What did the first overall picks sell for?

If you're buying Bowman Draft for the top of the draft, here's what the number one pick's plain Chrome autograph has done. These are raw prices from the same catalog read.

2025Eli Willits2025 #CPA-EW$150.00532

Going first overall buys you a price in the low hundreds and not much more. Skenes is the outlier because he got to Pittsburgh fast and pitched like an ace. Holliday's auto sits near $240, well under where it traded before his call-up, and our 1st Bowman Chrome auto market report tracks how his card slid through that. In 2024 and 2025 the top pick wasn't even the most expensive autograph in the set: Konnor Griffin's 2024 auto sits near $640 and Seth Hernandez's 2025 auto near $240, both above that year's first overall pick.

Is a player's first Bowman Draft card worth more than his later ones?

Yes, and by a lot. Top prospects often show up in Bowman Draft two or three years running, and only the first one gets the premium. We lined up the plain Chrome base card (no autograph, no refractor) from each player's first Bowman Draft appearance against his next one.

Adley Rutschman2019 #BDC-1$1.34 (298)2020 #BD-154$1.88 (28)

Seven of eight follow the same shape, a first card at three to nine times the later one. Griffin's gap is the biggest, about $25 against about $3. The later cards also barely trade, which I think is half the story: nobody's hunting a second-year Bowman Draft base card, so it sells like any other base card, for a buck or two.

Rutschman is the exception and I'm leaving him in because he's honest data. Both of his cards are cheap, and the later one is slightly higher on only 28 sales. The rule still points the right way for buyers. If you're paying up for a Bowman Draft card of a top prospect, make sure it's his first one. Our 1st Bowman explainer covers how to tell, since a player can have a 1st Bowman in more than one product. (The 2020 set numbers its Chrome cards BD instead of BDC, which is why two rows above look different.)

Which Bowman Draft refractors are worth chasing?

The autograph ladder is steep and mostly behaves. We matched every colored autograph in the 2025 set to the plain autograph of the same card number and took the median multiple. The print runs come from Checklist Insider's 2025 page. Only parallels with at least ten matched pairs are shown.

Black X-Fractor/101722.98x$450.00
Orange Refractor/253124.25x$212.49

Two things jump out. The wave versions sell under their plain twins at the same print run: Blue Wave /150 at about 3.6x against Blue /150 at about 4.5x, and Gold Wave /50 at about 8x against Gold /50 at about 10x. Collectors clearly prefer the classic color. The other is the Black X-Fractor /10 pricing a bit under the Orange /25, but that's 17 pairs, and I wouldn't read a /10 below a /25 as a real trend on that few sales.

The unsigned Chrome base ladder is much flatter. On the 2023 set, which has the cleanest parallel rows in our catalog, the plain Refractor sells for about 1.2x the plain card and a quarter of them sell for less. Gold runs about 7x, Orange about 12x, and Red about 44x on 116 pairs. So on base cards the color only matters from Gold up. The modern parallel ladder report has the same comparison across other chrome products, and our Superfractor explainer covers the one-of-one at the very top.

Is a Bowman Draft hobby box worth it?

At current prices, only if you're hoping for a specific name. Here's what sealed boxes are going for in our catalog.

Sealed Bowman Draft boxes, catalog prices as of September 28, 2026
YearBoxPriceRecorded sales
2023Hobby$724.959
2023Jumbo$2,675.0050
2023Super Jumbo$3,684.7129
2024Hobby$1,800.0072
2025Hobby$727.00251
2025Jumbo$765.0119
2025Super Jumbo Hobby$990.0084
2025Mega$79.18229

Take the 2025 hobby box, the best-traded row at 251 sales. It's selling around $727, a good bit over the $529.99 list price. Three autographs at the $15 median come to roughly $45. Use the average instead and it's roughly $75. Either way, the plain autographs don't come close, and neither does the rest of the box, since the plain Chrome base card sells for a median of about $1.50 in every year from 2019 to 2025.

So the box is priced on the odds of a Griffin or a Skenes, or a low-numbered color of one. That's the same shape our hobby box value report found across other products, just at a higher price. The 2023 Jumbo and Super Jumbo rows (the Skenes year) and the 2024 hobby row (the Griffin year) are the chase showing up in sealed prices. One caution on that 2024 row: I couldn't confirm which box configuration the catalog files under the plain "Hobby" name that year, so I'm not doing box math on it.

How does Bowman Draft compare with other draft-pick products?

It's the one everybody else gets measured against. Our Elite Extra Edition hub put the same three players side by side, and the Bowman Draft Chrome auto sold for roughly four times the Elite Extra auto every time: Skenes near $710 against about $190, Misiorowski near $340 against about $80, Henderson near $220 against about $60. The Elite Extra plain autograph median never cleared $3 in any year, where Bowman Draft's has stayed at $5 or above since 2020.

The difference is the licence plus the habit. Bowman cards carry the MLB team, and the prospect market has agreed for years that the first Bowman Chrome is the card. Unlicensed draft sets price as the cheaper alternative, and that gap doesn't close even when the player hits. Topps' own minor league set shows it too, and our Topps Pro Debut hub has Konnor Griffin's Pro Debut autograph near $235 against about $635 for his Bowman Draft one. The retail-only Bowman Platinum Top Prospects autographs sit lower still, at a median of two to three dollars. None of these are rookie cards, by the way. The rookie versus prospect explainer covers why the RC logo shows up years later in flagship.

What the sold listings show

We also pulled raw sold listings whose titles mention Bowman Draft, took out graded copies, lots, boxes, packs, breaks and the football and basketball versions, and removed exact duplicates on title, price and date. Our sold capture for this product is uneven before July 2026, so we only read July 1 through September 28, 2026.

That left 5,898 autograph titles with a median of $23.50 and 16,820 non-autograph titles with a median of $3.50. The autograph median is well above the catalog's plain median because sold titles mix in the refractors, which the catalog table above keeps out. About 29 percent of those autograph sales went for under $10, and three in four of the non-autograph sales did. Honestly, that lines up with everything else here.

How we built this page

Prices are raw (ungraded) catalog prices built from real sold prices, pulled September 28, 2026. Bowman Draft is filed under a lot of set names in our catalog, so we picked one per year and wrote it down. Plain autographs come from the Chrome Picks or Prospect Autograph set for each year, 2016 to 2025. Base cards and base refractors come from the per-year Bowman Draft Chrome set, 2019 to 2025. We used the 2023 set for the base ladder because the 2024 set files its colored refractors under one name, and the 2025 autograph set for the autograph ladder because it has published print runs.

Every table keeps the cheapest priced copy of each card number, box and pack rows are kept out of the card tables, and any top price on fewer than five sales is flagged in the text. Nothing here is a projection. For the product that comes before Draft each year, see our 2026 Bowman Chrome hub.

Frequently asked questions

What is Bowman Draft baseball?

Bowman Draft is the Topps prospect set built around each summer's MLB Draft class. It has a 200-card base set on paper and Chrome stock plus Chrome prospect autographs, and it's usually where a newly drafted player gets his first Bowman card.

When does Bowman Draft come out?

Late in the year or just after it. The 2024 set came out December 4, 2024, and the 2025 set moved to January 14, 2026, per Baseball America and Checklist Insider. As of September 28, 2026, we found no confirmed street date for the 2026 edition.

How many autographs are in a Bowman Draft hobby box?

Three. Checklist Insider lists the 2025 hobby box at 12 packs with three autographs and a $529.99 list price, and the Jumbo box at five autographs for $739.99. Sealed 2025 hobby boxes sell for about $727 in our catalog on 251 recorded sales.

How much are Bowman Draft autographs worth?

Most sell for a few dollars to about $15. The median plain Chrome prospect autograph ran between $5 and $15 raw in every year from 2020 to 2025. Top picks carry the money, with the 2023 Paul Skenes autograph near $700 and the 2024 Konnor Griffin near $640.

Is a Bowman Draft card a rookie card?

No. A Bowman Draft card is a prospect card, printed before the player reaches the majors, so it carries no RC logo. For a first-year draftee it's usually his 1st Bowman card, which the baseball market treats as the key card for that player.

Is a player's second Bowman Draft card worth less than his first?

Usually, by a lot. Konnor Griffin's 2024 Chrome base card sells for about $25 raw and his 2025 card for about $3. Max Clark, Travis Bazzana and Jackson Holliday show the same drop. The first appearance is the one collectors chase.
