What we're working on
A rough map of where HobbyCardIndex is headed.
I'll be straight up front: this page is new. We've been mostly heads-down building, so a public roadmap is overdue. I've never been a fan of roadmaps that stamp a date on everything and then quietly miss it, so I'm not going to do that here. This is a living list instead. What's actually shipped lately, what we're in the middle of, and what's on the list. If there's something you want bumped up, tell us. We build this for collectors and dealers who actually use it, so that kind of feedback carries real weight.
Recently shipped Live
- Enterprise API and bulk data. A REST API with keys, plus a full price CSV for every category that rebuilds each night, so you can pull the whole catalog instead of paging through it card by card.
- Prospect hubs for more sports. The prospect tool used to be baseball only. It now covers NBA, NFL, and NHL too, with live stats and market comps.
- Three languages. The app runs in English, Spanish, and Japanese now, with a dozen currencies.
- Games and community. A small arcade, card of the day, polls, a card-show finder, and a trend spotter.
In progress Building
- The marketplace. Buying and selling between collectors is in beta right now. The auction side is up, and the rest is still getting built out.
- Instant graded-slab scanning. The scanner already reads raw cards well. Reading a graded slab straight off the label is built and going through real-world testing before we turn it on for everyone.
- More on the API. We just shipped it, so we're adding to it. If you're building on it and need a specific endpoint or dataset, that's exactly the kind of thing that gets prioritized.
Further out On the list
Nothing here has a date, these are just the directions we keep coming back to. More languages and currencies, so HCI works as well for collectors outside North America as it does here. Broader coverage too, more depth in the sports we already track and more of the wider collecting world, Pokémon, Magic, and the rest of the TCG side, not just sports cards. Deeper tools for dealers. And more ways to get at our data for the people building on the API.
Working with the hobby
We want to get closer to the hobby itself, the shops, the breakers, and the people who are in this every day. The more we work with them, the better HCI lines up with what's actually happening on the ground.
Tell us what to build
Honestly, the best stuff we've built came from people telling us what was missing. If there's a feature, a data feed, a grader, a currency, whatever would make HCI more useful for how you collect or run your shop, send it our way through the contact page. We read all of it.
This page changes as we ship. If something here matters to you or you want it moved up the list, the contact page is the fastest way to get it in front of us.
Try the platform
Free tier, no credit card. Search any of the 7M+ cards in the catalog, build a watchlist, and see the market-intel dashboard. The basic price tools are not gated.
